The Quilt House was established in 1999 and incorporated in 2003.  We’re located in Gardnerville Nevada in the beautiful Carson Valley at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range.

The Quilt House has been in our new location in the “Park Place” center since March of 2003.  We are right by Lampe Park, on the corner of Waterloo and Highway 395.  There is ample parking and easy access. “ Park Place” has fast food and ‘slow’ food restaurants along with other shopping.  We are within walking distance of the park with  a great view of the Sierras – who could ask for more! 

Our spacious 4,000 square foot shop has 18 foot ceilings that allow for a very open and welcoming atmosphere and provides a great area to display quilts.  With over 3,500  bolts of quality cotton fabric, many unique “Kits”, notions, books, gifts,Quilting machines classesand along with accessories and with the addition of the Bernina line of sewing machines and software, Horn sewing cabinets and “The Heavenly Sewing Chair” -  we continue to provide the quilter with a complete line of quality products.

We carry many great fabrics like Moda, Hoffman, Thimbleberries and Benartex  just  to name a few.   We are constantly looking for great lines of fabric to kit up with great patterns.  Speaking of great patterns, The Quilt House is the home of ‘Bread and Butter Quilts’.  Bread and Butter Quilts was started by Janet Pierce and Susan Van Alyne,  and they currently have about nine original patterns.   B&B  Patterns can be purchased through The Quilt House.  Our  ‘Kits’ and B&B  patterns have been featured in  Fabric Trends and American Patchwork & Quilting “Quilt Sampler” magazines.

Speaking of magazines, The Quilt House was very honored to have been selected as a “featured shop” in the  “Quilt Sampler” magazine  September  2004 issue.  We are very thankful to all of our dedicated staff (who are our backbone) and also to our customers, suppliers and friends who have supported us since 1999 and share in this honor and recognition. That honor was further extended in March 2007 when we were selected to be in the Better Homes & Garden "Best of" Quilt sampler new bookazine issue.

It’s always our goal to have all our customers “Experience the FUN with US!”, so if you are a part of a large group (Quilting Retreat, Quilt Guild, bus tour etc.) and on a “fabric hunt” call us ahead of your visit so we can welcome you with refreshments and appropriate staffing.   We are open Monday – Saturday 10am to 5pm and closed on Sunday.
