Watch for our NEW redesigned Website and Shopping Cart – Coming Soon!!!!
The Quilt House was established in 1999 and is located in Gardnerville, Nevada – 12 miles south of Carson City at the base of the Sierra Nevada mountain range - just below Lake Tahoe in the beautiful Carson Valley.
The Quilt House has been in the “Park Place” center since March of 2003. We are right next to Lampe Park, on the corner of Waterloo Lane and Highway 395. There is ample parking and easy access. We are within walking distance of the park with great view of the Sierras – who could ask for more!
In November/December of 2008 The Quilt House added an additional 2,600 square feet to our already spacious 3,900 square foot shop. Our new addition will provide more retail space, more and larger classes, more display area for our Bernina and Horn products as well as space to add our
‘Antiques and Stuff” items.
Our 18 foot ceilings allow for a very open and welcoming atmosphere and provide a great area to display quilts. With over 3,500 bolts of quality cotton fabric, many unique “Kits”, notions, books, gifts and accessories and with our Bernina line of sewing machines, Horn sewing cabinet and Heavenly Sewing Chairs – we continue to provide the quilter with a complete line of quality quilting and sewing products.
The Quilt House carries many great fabrics like Moda, Hoffman, Thimbleberries and Benartex to name a few. We are constantly looking for great lines of fabric to kit up with great patterns. Speaking of great patterns, The Quilt House is the home of “Bread and Butter Quilts.” Bread and Butter Quilts was started by Susan Van Alyne ( our store manager) and Janet Pierce. Their great designs and clear instructions make their patterns very desirable for ‘kits’, classes or just doing on your own. B&B Patterns can be purchased through The Quilt House. Our ‘Kits and B&B patterns have been featured in McCall’s, Fabric Trends and American Patchwork & Quilting “Quilt Sampler” magazines.
Speaking of magazines, The Quilt House was honored to have been selected to be a “featured shop” in the Better Homes and Gardens Quilt Sampler magazine in September of 2004. We were further honored to be selected by Better Homes and Gardens to be featured in their premiere issue of “Best of” Quilt Sampler” in March, 2007. We are very thankful to all of our dedicated staff (who are our backbone) and also to our customers, suppliers and friends who have supported us all these years and share in this honor and recognition.
It‘s always been our goal to have all our customers ”Experience the Fun with Us!”, so if your are a part of a large group ( Quilting Retreat, Quilt Guild, Bus tour etc.) and are on a “fabric hunt,” call us ahead of your visit so we can be ready to welcome you. We are open Monday-Saturday 10 am to 5 pm and closed on Sunday.
While our site is under re-construction please feel free to call our shop with any questions.
Happy Quilting!
Gary and Janet Pierce
